Alison’s classmates, having realised that she is the only one of the students who will be freed, gang up on her and taunt her until Nairobi intervenes. She asks Helsinki to take them away. Now alone with Nairobi, Alison then tells her that she is a good shooter, to which Nairobi tells her that she should show the brutes in her class that she is made of sterner stuff, and that she is the boss.
Ángel informs Raquel about the drug Retroxil that is being used by Berlin, and that there has been unnaturally high demand for it lately. She tells him to get a warrant and go to the pharmacy in Toledo that sells it, alone and in secret, and find out about its recent order history.
Helsinki tells Arturo that he has a surprise for him, and soon enough Denver opens the door, leading Mónica inside. Meanwhile, the police team is not convinced that the proof-of-life videos recorded by the hostages are genuine. Raquel calls the Professor and informs him that the police will have to enter the mint to check the condition of the hostages, to which he agrees. At the mint, she is frisked by Tokyo, who fishes out a microphone from Raquel’s underpants and hands it to Rio.
At Berlin’s orders, the hostages appear one by one before Raquel (starting with Arturo, to whom she apologises for shooting him), and she takes note of their health. Back inside the hostage room, Arturo, desperate to find an escape plan, quickly tells a visibly distressed Alison the password to a secret safe to hide in. Seeing the poor girl’s anxiety, Mónica stops him. Denver enters the room to check on her leg wound, and Arturo is not pleased that she has to be undressed for this. Later he takes her away at her request.
Having seen all the hostages except Alison, Raquel tells Tokyo about Berlin’s terminal disease, Helmer’s myopathy, and that he has a few months at most to live. As Alison is being taken along, she escapes to the safe and hides in it, with Nairobi in hot pursuit. Meanwhile Ariadna, a hostage, asks to enter Berlin’s office, where she has sex with him in a bid to save her life.
Nairobi catches Alison in the safe and takes her to Raquel, before Tokyo and Rio take Raquel away. Ángel is called by the forensic team, which informs him that the fingerprints on the Seat Ibiza car did not match any in their database. Berlin informs the gang that he indeed has only a few months to live, and raises a toast to the success of the plan so far.
Raquel reveals that the hidden microphone was a ruse for Rio: it contains a video message wherein his parents plead for him to turn himself in to the police. On reaching the pharmacy in Toledo, Ángel notices that a man (none other than the Professor) had got there before him, and realises that it was a decoy to get rid of him.
