Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area (Korean: 종이의 집: 공동경제구역) is a Korean adaptation of Money Heist that is created by Kim Hong-sun, Ryu Yong-jae, Kim Hwan-chae, and Choe Sung-jun. It set on the Korean peninsula, and the shows’ creators will breathe new life into the familiar storyline.[2] It was announced in December 2020.[3]
The first season of the Korean adaptation will have 12 episodes. Each episode will have a runtime of 60 minutes.[4]

Synopsis[]
The enigmatic Professor assembles a group of skilled thieves from the North and South to steal the freshly minted currency of a to-be unified Korea.
Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area takes place as North and South Korea are on the verge of a peaceful reunification after nearly 80 years of division. As the nations prepare to print a brand-new unified currency, a heist is hatched. A genius strategist known as the Professor assembles a motley crew of top-tier thieves from north and south in an attempt to steal the new currency straight from the mint.
The Professor (Yoo Ji-tae) who approaches Tokyo (Jun Jong-seo) with a plan to steal 4 trillion won from the Korea Unified Mint. He assembles a top-class group of thieves to pull it off, but chaos ensues as hostages are taken and a joint task force led by South Korean negotiation specialist Seon Woojin (Kim Yunjin) and former North Korean special agent Cha Moohyuk (Kim Seung-o) is formed to stop them.[5]
